The Church of Annunciation B.V.M is currently housed in its third location since its founding. Technically, the  church's first service was held on November 20, 1870 in a building on the corner of Camac and Norris Streets in North Philadelphia. In 1896, Annunciation became the first Parish in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to openly reserve the blessed Sacrament in a Tabernacle. Tragedy Struck Annunciation on the night of Friday, April 6, 1990 when the Church was destroyed by a fire. The congregation was invited to worship in the chapel of St Clements Episcopal Church on 20th and Cherry St. Annunciation's parishioners worshipped there from June 1990 to December 1991.

The Current site of the Church, on the corner of Lincoln Drive and Carpenter Lane in Philadelphia 's Mt Airy neighborhood, was originally home of the Church of Epiphany. Although Epiphany's sanctuary had itself been destroyed by fire in the 1980s the rectory and parish house were intact. The Parrish house was converted into a sanctuary and the new Church of the Annunciation, B.V.M. was consecrated by Bishop Allen Bartlett on May 7, 1992
